So much of philosophy, when one is a materialist (e.g. a behaviorist or a postmodernist), is about giving context to what was henceforth thought immaterial – beliefs, intentions and ideas, mainly. Not to mention deities. This involves a reading of words as words and their history of associated behaviors and neuromechanics, rather than as pure concepts.
